This painting was done in memory
of Tony Rubel, a dear friend
and President of the Carbon County Art League.
Tony was a photographer of beautiful women.
To help find a cure for breast cancer,
The League put on a show "Paint Pennsylvania Pink."
Part of the proceeds from the sales
were donated to cancer research.
Tony had planned to photograph
a woman wrapped in a pink ribbon
to exhibit in the show.
Unfortunately, he never got the opportunity.
A heart attack took his life.
This painting depicks a woman who is in the autumn of her life.
She is about to loose her life to the winter of cancer.
Her only hope is the pink ribbon.
